The Rollerblade Twister XT W is arguably the ultimate inline skate. The 4x80mm urban version features improved liners and a modified shell for better fitment and performance.
The first thing to discuss is the look and in particular those geometric edges. Aesthetically crisp, the silhouette is desirable and quintessential rollerblade. We absolutely love it.
This, the latest boot mould, has seen modifications to the boot to allow a wider fitment (a small criticism of the skate's past). Still included within the boot is the Anti-Torsion Box, which increases control by reducing lateral flexion in the plastic whilst in use (it's two metal plates that connect the frame and boot together on the sole of the boot). Without this component, the Twister Edge X would be a very different skate. Users will be impressed with how responsive and agile the skates feel on the foot.
The new liner helps with fitment further. Modified wrapping places the foot in a better skating position, which helps with control. The v-cut provides a range of movement whilst ensuring the foot is supported in key areas. The wider fitment in combination with the modified boot gives more people access to this wonderful skate.
The extruded aluminium 4x80mm 243mm frame lowers the overall weight and enhances responsivity. Rollerblade has included 80mm Hydrogen wheels, the most prestigious wheels in the world. This quality urethane assures maximum speed, grip and durability. The Twincam ILQ 9 Plus bearings, which use Japanese Kyodo grease, are in keeping with the skates' speedy style. The bearing lubricant reduces unwanted grit which is perfect for regular recreational use.
Rollerblade has also worked hard on the ventilation of these skates, emphasised by the v-shaped liner. Impressive cushioning found in "pressure" areas keeps the foot snug but cooled. A heel pad is included for shock absorption when required.
