The Story
The USD Shadow Team White skates represent a legacy of aggressive inline skating. Originally developed under the Xsjado name by pioneering skaters in the 2000s, these skates attempted to redefine the activity by emphasising creative plate and frame manipulation over using the wheels (they literally blocked the middle wheels out of the frame). Designed for obstacle-focused skating and sliding techniques, they've earned a devoted following among aggressive skaters who value the unconventional style of boot and how it performs.
The skates today are adapted but still unique in that they feature a skeleton and a shoe, similar-ish to a ski boot (but with much more flexibility). You put the shoe on and then strap it into the skeleton shell. They also come with all 8 wheels, unlike the original with "mook" frames.
Being able to attach yourself to the skate in this way (without taking the inner boot off) has its benefits; extra padding, extra absorption and extra support give rise to the Shadow's distinctive qualities.
The most unique skate on the market arrives in a colour-way that illustrates the opposite its name, (shadow) white.
